Ikechukwu Ezenwa Named As Captain Of CHAN Eagles

Super Eagles chief coach, Salisu Yusuf has named Ikechukwu Ezenwa as new captain of the team even as they continue their preparations in Kanoahead of CHAN qualifier's game.

The CHAN Super Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf has named FC Ifeanyi Uba shot stopper Ikechukwu Ezenwa as captain ahead of their CHAN Qualifiers game. 

Chima Akas of Enyimba is has been handed the deputy role.

The first leg of their qualifying fixture against Benin Republic will be in Cotonou on 13th August and according to the NFF Scribe Mohammed Sanusi, the Super Eagles’ delegation will depart for the away match on 11th August.

They are expected to return to Kano to continue camping for the second leg, which will come up on 19th August.

Nigeria's best outing in the CHAN tournament was in 2014 in South Africa when they secured a bronze medal.

This present team will be hoping to surpass that performance but they will need to first qualify for the next edition coming up in 2018 in Kenya.
